Today I learn a valuable lesson, from my friends within the same field that I have been working on for a few years.
He told me a story that was impressive, it was about how was a probject broke apart because of cutting corners.
Since I cannot disclose the details of the project, I can only tell you what I have learnt from there and what’s happened.
One day, a client came in and ask for a IT project quotation.
Next, this project was outsourced to somewhere cheaper in the earth, for quite a few times.
Then, this project doesnt have enough budget to build what the client needs for the most purpose of it.
Finally, this project delivered quite a poor result due to the intermediation and layers of outsourcing.
Personally I believe this can be solved in the future by some internet startup, because of the client request wasn’t straightly delivered to the business itself, and which, internet business are quite focus on disintermediation.
That’s it.
Anyway, don’t cut the corners.
Do it slow, otherwise whatever you are trying to build, it will break apart one day.
Make it solid.
